Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps taken by Storage North End to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Storage North End recognises that modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. We are committed to acting ethically, with integrity and transparency in all our business dealings.
Our Organisation and Supply Chains
Storage North End operates storage and related services and relies on a range of suppliers for products, equipment, facilities management, and professional services. Our supply chains include providers of goods used on our sites, contractors engaged for maintenance and cleaning, and service partners supporting our operational and administrative functions.
We acknowledge that risks of modern slavery can occur at different tiers of the supply chain, particularly in sectors such as facilities services, construction, logistics, and the manufacture of goods and materials. We are committed to identifying, assessing, and addressing these risks on an ongoing basis.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Storage North End has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, involuntary servitude, and debt bondage. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation or individual involved in such practices, and we are committed to promoting high labour and ethical standards across our operations and supply base.
Our expectations are communicated to employees, contractors, and suppliers. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy is treated with the utmost seriousness and may result in the termination of contracts or business relationships, in addition to any legal action required.
Supplier Standards and Audits
Storage North End seeks to work only with suppliers who share our commitment to responsible and lawful business practices. We expect suppliers to comply with all applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws and to ensure that slavery and human trafficking do not occur within their operations.
As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing management, we conduct proportionate due diligence. This may include requesting information on suppliers' own policies, reviewing labour practices, and assessing geographic and sector risk. Where appropriate, we reserve the right to conduct supplier audits, site visits, or request independent verification to confirm compliance with our modern slavery standards.
Where concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to address them through corrective action plans. If satisfactory progress is not achieved within a reasonable timeframe, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage North End encourages employees, contractors, suppliers, and any other stakeholders to report concerns about modern slavery, human rights abuses, or unethical conduct in our operations or supply chains. We support a culture of openness and will not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
Concerns can be raised with line managers or senior management, or through any internal reporting mechanism made available for the escalation of ethical or compliance issues. All reports will be taken seriously, assessed promptly, and investigated where appropriate. Where modern slavery is suspected, we will consider reporting to relevant authorities and cooperating fully with any official investigations.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks within Storage North End. Relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, and site operations, will be provided with guidance on identifying potential indicators of modern slavery and the steps to take if they have concerns.
By promoting awareness, we aim to strengthen our ability to identify and mitigate risks and to support our people in acting responsibly and confidently when issues arise.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
Storage North End recognises that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We will review this Modern Slavery Statement at least annually to assess the effectiveness of our approach and to identify opportunities for improvement. This review may consider changes in our business operations, emerging risks in our supply chains, feedback from stakeholders, and any incidents or investigations that have occurred.
As part of our continuous improvement efforts, we will consider enhancements to our due diligence, auditing, training, and reporting processes. Our aim is to strengthen our controls year on year and to contribute positively to the elimination of modern slavery in the sectors and communities in which we operate.
This statement has been approved by the management of Storage North End and represents our current position on modern slavery and human trafficking.
